United Soccer League - Youth - Tryouts:
USL Y Performance Pathway
(Summer ONLY)
In Partnership with Oak Brook Soccer Club
Celtics Soccer is proud to partner with Oak Brook Soccer Club to offer a high level USL Y pathway for players seeking a competitive, development focused soccer environment.
This collaboration brings together Celtics’ player development philosophy, coaching standards, and pathway vision with Oak Brook Soccer Club’s strong local presence and operational support. Together, we are committed to creating a clear, professional environment where players are challenged appropriately and supported throughout their development.
Teams formed through this partnership will train and compete in a demanding setting designed to support long term growth, strong habits, and meaningful game experiences. Roster spots are limited and available only for select age groups.
Oak Brook Soccer Club will manage registration and administrative logistics, while Celtics staff and leadership will play an active role in player evaluation, coaching oversight, and pathway alignment across all teams.
Program Details (2026 Season)
Following the tryout sessions, all players will receive communication within 48 hours outlining next steps. Offers may fall into one of the following categories:
1. Roster Offer
The player has been offered a place on a team. Details regarding registration, timelines, and next steps will be included.
2. Additional Evaluation Requested
The player has been invited to attend an additional outdoor evaluation. This allows our staff more time to assess fit, development, and placement before final decisions are made.
3. Training-Only Opportunity
The player has been offered a practice-only training option. This pathway allows players to continue developing within the program environment without immediate roster placement, with opportunities to be reassessed in the future.
4. Not Selected at This Time
At this time, the player has not been selected to move forward in the program. We appreciate every player who attends and encourage continued development and future opportunities.
All offers are made with the player’s long-term development and best fit in mind. We thank families for their patience and understanding throughout the evaluation process.

Player Development: Aligned with the USL’s youth-to-pro pathway, focusing on growth and high-level competition.
The 2026 USL (Super Y) Season training will start mid-June and have 2 training sessions a week in Oak Brook. Each team will play 6-8 games, and they could start as early as June 11th (depending on the league schedule publishing). There will be no games the weekend of July 4th and 5th. All games should end by August 7th. This is all subject to change if mandated by the Super Y League office, but the above is our intentions. At the end of summer, league winners will qualify for the USL Super Y Finals that are held early December in Florida. NOTE: teams who qualify for the USLY (Super Y) Finals are REQUIRED to travel to Florida in December to compete. Failure to do so could result in large fines.
League games are organized through tournament style whereby most teams visit neutral site locations and play multiple games over that weekend. We will also schedule one-off games against geographically close to us opponents that are in the league. Given the structure of the league, players from any Club are allowed to participate with our teams without requiring a release from their specific club.
We are aware that June & July are vacation months for families, so players will not get penalized for missing some practices or games.
Neutral Game sites for game weekends:
Please note that the summer 2026 site locations have not been updated yet. Locations are most likely South Bend, Edwardsburg, Waukegan, Sylvania. ALL TEAMS WILL TRAVEL 1 OR 2 OF THESE WEEKENDS. They have not allocated what weekends will be where yet. Game schedules are generally worked out by the middle of May.
