Bio

Jon’s connection to soccer began early in life, back when he attended his first training session in third grade. He was instantly captivated by the fluid nature of the game. Alongside one of his older siblings, who also started playing around the same time, Jon’s passion for soccer grew with the unwavering support of his parents. They encouraged both him and his brother to become the best players and teammates they could be, and Jon has remained deeply connected to the game ever since.

He started his coaching journey by coaching his kids in Region 300 at AYSO, and in 2010, he began coaching with the Celtics. Three of Jon’s children have been part of the Celtics program, and he has cherished the opportunity to work with many players, families, and fellow coaches over the years. One of the highlights for Jon has been participating in three England trips, experiences that have deepened his appreciation for the sport and the friendships he has formed as a proud Celtic parent and coach.

Jon finds immense joy in various aspects of coaching soccer. He appreciates that it is a team game, where every member must be fully engaged, communicating, and contributing for the team to perform at its best. He also values the diversity of skills and personality types that are essential for a team to thrive. Moreover, Jon loves that the game demands discipline while also allowing for creativity and individual expression. For him, witnessing the kids improve and grow as both individual players and as a cohesive team is truly rewarding.
